Rock Paper Scissors

The inspiration for “Rock Paper Scissors” came directly from the popular Rock Paper Scissors food challenge on social media. What makes the challenge interesting is the tension, unexpected reactions and often hilarious moments between the players. For the song, the challenge was transformed into a metaphor for attraction and a playful game of love: who makes the first move, who takes the risk, who wins—and who is willing to surrender? The musical style is energetic Afro-funk dance-pop, driven by a tight danceable groove, funky bass, African percussion, handclaps and a strong, instantly recognizable hook. The creative idea was simple: take a familiar social-media challenge, give it a completely different meaning, and turn “Rock, Paper, Scissors… SHOOT!” into a musical catchphrase that people can sing, dance to and recognize after hearing it just once.
